The Walla Walla Valley's geology, climate and and location combine to create a terroir that rivals conditions in any grape-producing region of the world. The growth of the wine industry in Walla Walla over the past decade has brought an influx of viticultural expertise to the valley, resulting in an ever higher standard of grape production.

The geography of the Walla Walla Valley is uniquely suited to the cultivation of exceptional fruit, the first, and most important, component in a truly memorable

wine. In addition to sharing the same latitude as as many of the famous French wine regions in Bordeaux and Burgundy, which gives vineyards a longer, more varied growing season, the 530 square-mile Walla Walla Valley Appellation benefits from rich layers of topsoil laid down by series' of catastrophic prehistoric floods. This ancient cycle of flooding and drainage left the area with layers of loess, silt and cobbles which have contributed to the area's rich agricultural tradition for years and now provide an ideal environment for growing high-quality grapes.
